Challenges for the Social Sciences in Times of Pandemic

On November 5 and 6, the international symposium “Thinking about the bicentennial: Challenges of the Social Sciences in times of pandemic: A multidimensional view” will take place, from 10:00 to 17:00 Peru time (12:00 to 19:00 in Argentina and Uruguay).

Organized by the National University of the Altiplano PUNO, the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the Professional School of Sociology, with the support of CLACSO and the Latin American Sociological Association (ALAS), the event will feature keynote addresses by Karina Batthyány, Executive Secretary of CLACSO; Boaventura de Sousa Santos (University of Coimbra, Portugal); and Adrián Scribano (CONICET, University of Buenos Aires). There will also be four thematic panels: Work, Networks, and the Pandemic; Social Policies and Sensibilities; Sensitivity and Creativity; and The Pandemic: Between the Collective and the Common.

During the Symposium, Karina Batthyány was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the National University of the Altiplano Puno.
