Report of the Latin American Forum on Scientific Evaluation (FOLEC)
We are sharing the report from the Latin American Forum on Scientific Evaluation (FOLEC), a joint initiative of CLACSO and Conacyt, which took place last November at the Mora Institute in Mexico City. The meeting successfully fostered debate on the processes of evaluating scientific work and generated proposals from Latin America and the Caribbean, in dialogue with trends and best practices from other regions of the world. It also brought together experts from the region, as well as representatives from science and technology organizations (STOs) and CLACSO member centers in Mexico, for two intensive days of work.
The dialogue space with the OCyTs shared experiences and found points of agreement to build and enhance regional evaluation instruments and move towards a space for exchange and discussion that engages the scientific systems of the different countries.
The following report (available in Spanish and English) outlines the central reflections and main agreements reached at this Forum.
