Social movements and politics in Brazil
This book, part of the "In Motion" collection, seeks to provide a panoramic analysis of the Brazilian sociopolitical process of the last four decades, relating different dynamics and temporalities without being limited to the merely circumstantial. It analyzes the rise and fall of the New Republic, the period that began in the 1980s with the end of the military dictatorship, which has been under attack in the last decade through a gradual dynamic of democratic setbacks and attacks on its main pillars, including the agents, agendas, and institutions that dominated the public sphere in contemporary Brazil.
