60 years since the assassination of the Mirabal Sisters

On November 26 and 27, the virtual seminar "Following in the footsteps of the Mirabal sisters 60 years later: The struggle of women for emancipation in Our America. Equality, democracy, justice and memory" was held, organized by the Latin American Council of Social Sciences and the CLACSO Member Centers of the Dominican Republic.

The international seminar commemorated the 60th anniversary of the assassination of the Mirabal Sisters and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and aimed to foster and encourage encounters between those who research, think, work and are active in the struggle for equality, full democracy, justice and memory, with women at the center of this struggle.
