3rd Open Science Conference organized by the United Nations “Accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals, democratizing the science record”

From February 8 to 10, 2023 - on the eve of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science - the 3rd Open Science Conference will bring together policymakers, representatives of intergovernmental organizations, researchers, academics, librarians, publishers and civil society, who will engage in a dialogue about the opportunities and challenges of practicing open science.  

It is organized by the Dag Hammarskjöld Library of the United Nations Department of Global Communications in collaboration with the Sustainable Development Goals Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the Policy Division 

Under the slogan "Accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals, democratizing the science record", the panels and presentations will focus on three trends: 

-Equity in open science 

-Reform of scientific publishing 

-Strengthening the science-policy-society interface 

Dr. Arianna Becerril García, Executive Director of Redalyc and coordinator of the CLACSO Working Group “Open Science as a common good”, will be one of the main speakers for Latin America and the Caribbean.
