World Science Day for Peace and Development 2020: Invitation to the online Roundtable, Friday 6 November, 13:00-14:45 Paris Time

We are pleased to invite you and your network to participate in an online roundtable on the theme of “Science for and with Society in dealing with COVID-19”, on Friday 6 November, 13:00-14:45 (Paris time), on the occasion of celebrating the World Science Day for Peace and Development 2020.
The World Science Day for Peace and Development, is proclaimed by UNESCO in 2001 and celebrated each year on 10 November to raise awareness of the important role of science for peaceful and sustainable societies and to highlight the need to engage the wider public in debates on emerging scientific issues.
This year, at a time when the world is struggling with the global COVID-19 pandemic, the focus of the World Science Day is on “Science for and with Society in dealing with the global pandemic”. The event will include a Keynote speech by Prof. Edith Heard, Director-General, European Molecular Biology Laboratory, a moderated roundtable dialog, and an open Q&A session.
