Presentation # CLACSO2022

From June 7 to 10, 2022 the 9th Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Social Sciences at the facilities of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), in the capital of the country where CLACSO has 101 member centers and associated networks, in addition to a long history of activities and agreements with local institutions.

Previously, the days June 5th and 6th, 2022, two CLACSO Assemblies will be held: the Extraordinary Assembly to consider the statutesand Ordinary Assembly that takes place every three years and is where the regional and world perspectives are discussed and where the main guidelines for the work of the following years are set.

The # CLACSO2022 edition will feature open and special panels with international guests and lectures and keynote dialogues with leading figures from the political, academic and social fields, as well as training workshops, panels and tables. It should be noted that within the framework of this activity there will be an international social science and humanities book fair and an international film cycle, among other special events.

The Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Social Sciences is, since its first edition in 2003, the largest academic and political event of the Social Sciences and Humanities worldwide. In its eight previous editions, which accompanied the holding of the General Assemblies of the Council, various topics have been addressed depending on the political and social circumstances of the region. In 2022 the articulating axis of the Conference will be the networks of inequalities.

It is with great satisfaction that I am writing to you to convey the invitation to the 9th Latin American and Caribbean Conference of Social Sciences and Humanities, convened from June 7 to 10, 2022 at the headquarters of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, UNAM.

«Frames of inequalities in Latin America and the Caribbean – Knowledge, Struggles and Transformations», such is the slogan that calls us to # CLACSO2022. Undoubtedly, a synthesis of the diagnosis and of the objectives that we propose for a future that we face aware of the challenges, but also with the strength that the transformative struggles that run through our region give us in pursuit of more democracy, more equality, more social justice.

Along this path, the debate is and will undoubtedly be enriching, organized on the basis of 34 thematic axes called to be deepened in the forums and colloquia, with the participation of outstanding intellectuals, academics and academics, teachers and young people, the members of CLACSO Member Centers and Workgroups, who will give color and warmth to the meeting that awakens great expectations. Axes that cover the challenges of democracy, the environment, migration, feminism, education, blackness, indigenous peoples, human rights, disabilities, South-South Cooperation and many others that have been marking the regional agenda.

So I invite you to walk together the path towards #CLACSO 2022 that we are already traveling, presenting your papers, registering and disseminating your objectives and news.
