Socio-territorial movements in critical and comparative perspective

Socio-territorial movements in critical and comparative perspective

El CLACSO Working Group on Socio-territorial Movements in Critical and Comparative Perspective It is dedicated to surveying the actions of urban and rural socio-spatial and socio-territorial movements,

in 13 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean: Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Guatemala and Mexico.

These actions will initially be identified using algorithms, applying selection criteria related to the characterization of collective actions in processes of appropriation and/or use of spaces and territories. We are also interested in the presence of other public or private institutions and the connection of these actions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The purpose is to build an Atlas with systematized information from different sources.

We are committed to comparatively analyzing the database generated for each of the countries participating in the GT and, thus, being able to discuss the concepts of socio-territorial movements and actions.

We are also interested in providing a set of conceptual and methodological tools that lead to the production of new knowledge on this subject; while also contributing to the development of strategies for action, defense and proposal by socio-spatial and socio-territorial movements, in their various territories.
