This book compiles the research findings of the fellows from the second cohort of the Research and Training Program in Andean Agroecological Systems, supported by the partnership between the McKnight Foundation and CLACSO. This project has enabled graduate students to conduct research relevant to small-scale Andean agriculture, employing diverse approaches and methodologies. Their work offers a unique perspective on various aspects of rural life in the region and its contributions to a better world, with an emphasis on agrobiodiversity. Reading it transports us to a rich tapestry of Andean territories with their cultural and socioecological idiosyncrasies, where the logic of care and the knowledge intimately interwoven with nature are expressed and endure. The research experiences presented here invite us to celebrate our agroecologies, to live them, and to commit ourselves, from horizontal action research, to the ongoing construction of this community of practice in the Andes, whose co-production of knowledge is contributing to the consolidation of that philosophical, theoretical and methodological body that will sustain the emancipatory and transformative proposal of agroecology throughout the Andes and beyond.
