La Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana will host the 59th International Congress of Americanists (ICA 2027), the oldest and most important academic meeting worldwide dedicated to the study of the Americas, which has been held since 1875.
under the motto “Tradition and innovation: the memories of the Americas”The congress proposes a space for interdisciplinary dialogue to reflect on the contemporary transformations of the region in relation to its historical, cultural, social and political dimensions.
The 2027 International Contemporary Art Conference (ICA) will address key themes such as the relationships between technology, power, and society; territories, regeneration, and climate change; and the role of the past in shaping the present. It will also encompass a wide range of thematic areas, including social studies, social movements, gender, migration, human rights, culture, education, and critical thinking.
The event will bring together researchers, teachers, students and professionals from around the world, promoting academic exchange through symposia, round tables, keynote lectures and parallel activities.
