“Launch of Latin East Working Group”

This June Security in Context hosted the public launch of the “Latin East” Working Group, a multi-institutional and multi-regional collaboration with the Arab Council for the Social Sciences (ACSS), The Latin American Council for the Social Sciences (CLACSO), and the North American Congress on Latin America (NACLA). The working group advances SiC’s mission in promoting a North-South and South-South dialogue and exchange of experiences and knowledge that redefines our understanding of global dynamics related to militarism, violence, and insecurity. The working group consists of scholars who study- and for the most part are based in- Latin America and the Middle East and North Africa region.
